McClendon Center is a mid-sized health care provider based in Washington, DC, focused on serving adults who are mentally ill and economically disadvantaged. For more than 40 years, it has addressed both mental health needs and medical concerns at the point of care, long before integrated behavioral health models were common. In addition to treating mental illness, the center addresses related needs such as primary care, housing, and socialization to improve overall well-being. Since 1999 it has held Joint Commission accreditation, and it remains the only independent mental health provider in DC with that credential. Founded in 1980, the organization operates in the District of Columbia. In May 2026, it announced a partnership with Call Your Mother Deli in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.
