The McHenry County Conservation District is a government entity based in Woodstock, Illinois, focused on preserving, restoring, and managing natural areas and open spaces for their intrinsic value and for the benefit of present and future generations. It owns and manages more than 25,800 acres of land—woodlands, prairies, wetlands, and waterways—with 35 sites open to the public year-round and 106 miles of hiking trails, 45 miles of biking trails, 45 fishing areas, 36 miles of horse trails, six canoe launches, and six campgrounds.
