MCLA is a thriving architectural lighting design firm founded in 1996 by Maureen Moran. As a full service lighting firm, MCLA collaborates with architects, designers and owners to create places for working, learning, visiting, conferencing and socializing. MCLA’s work spans the continental US and extends to Europe, Central and South America, Asia, and the Middle East. These projects range from exteriors and interiors, renovations and new construction, photometric studies, and lighting surveys for various market sectors: • Commercial • Government • Healthcare • Higher Education • Historic Preservation • Hospitality • Landscape • Multi-Family Residential • Museums and Exhibits • Performing and Cultural Arts • Retail • Restaurants • Sustainability The firm is a small group of lighting designers and administrative support, who each contributes his or her unique perspective and expertise. Our staff includes Lighting Certified (LC) designers, LEED Green Associates, and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). We work with state-of-the-art computer resources: • AutoCAD 2012 – computer-aided design and drafting • AGi32 – lighting calculations and daylight simulations • Revit – building information modeling MCLA is 100% woman-owned and certified as a CBE in Washington, D.C., MBE by Maryland Department of Transportation, SWaM by Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise, and nationally by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
