Our History On February 15, 1947, Metairie Bank & Trust Company was founded by local businessmen in order for Metairie to take its place as a self-sufficient community. Metairie Bank & Trust Company was the first bank on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish and has operated continuously from Metairie since 1947.
