University of Michigan Health-West operates as an integrated health system based in Wyoming, Michigan, serving West Michigan, and it has adopted a new name following a rebranding from Metro Health. The system encompasses University of Michigan Health-West Hospital, a 208-bed general acute-care osteopathic teaching facility, along with a network of a dozen neighborhood physician offices across the region. It provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including heart and vascular care and a cancer center developed in partnership with the University of Michigan’s radiation oncology program, all supported by a hospital foundation focused on community health. In addition to core clinical care, the organization coordinates wellness and community education programs, a medical education program, and joint ventures with other providers. During the transition period, patient communications may display either University of Michigan Health-West or Metro Health - University of Michigan Health. In 2026 it was recognized as one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
