Metropolitan Ballet is a 501(c)(3) arts education organization, funded in part by the Arts & Humanities Council of MoCo and the MD State Arts Council. We are celebrating our 26th year of serving the community through dance education, outreach performances, and by promoting civic responsibility in our students. Dance Education: Our Academy currently serves nearly 400 students in classical ballet, jazz, modern, tap and hip hop dance. Professional Performances: Our students and professionals perform at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center to 7,000 patrons annually. We produce an annual presentation of The Nutcracker and an original Spring Dance Production. We strive to keep ticket prices low to remain accessible to everyone. Outreach Program: Our outreach benefits thousands of youth and seniors annually through free performances, workshops and classes at local schools, senior residential facilities and at community events. We donate tickets to underserved community members, and we offer a comprehensive outreach program to Girl Scouts. We are Unique: We are unique as a classical ballet school in that we are all-inclusive. We accept any student, regardless of age, size, shape, technical ability, previous experience, future aspirations or economic situation. We serve ages 2 - adult, and include an adaptive ballet program for students with disabilities.
