Since 1981, the Miami Beach CDC has retained a pivotal role on Miami Beach both as a housing provider, social services facilitator, and affordable housing developer. The Miami Beach CDC builds communities and contributes to the conservation and preservation of the Art Deco Historic District, at a time when the City is experiencing vast urbanization and aesthetical change. With its new leadership and board of directors in place, the Miami Beach CDC will expand its reach and mission assuring decades to come of creation and preservation of affordable and workforce housing for families, the elderly, the formerly homeless, and people with special needs. The MBCDC's main focus is the production of affordable housing, and to act as a facilitator of social programs for its residents.
