Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA) is a coalition of 15 independent four-year colleges and universities in Michigan that share a liberal arts and sciences foundation. Based in Southfield, MCA aims to broaden college choice, improve access to its member campuses for students and families, and support strong career outcomes for graduates through shared capacity. The alliance emphasizes smaller, values-guided campuses that cultivate self-discovery, leadership, ethical values, critical thinking, global awareness, and civic engagement. MCA focuses its work in three areas: Marketing and Enrollment; Scholarship and Investment; and Talent and Corporate Relations, all geared toward connecting students with Michigan career opportunities. Collectively, its member campuses enroll more than 41,000 students and constitute a significant part of Michigan's higher education landscape. A notable recent development is a 2024 partnership with Battle Creek Public Schools to help bridge students to private institutions.
