Mid-South Transplant Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization designated by the federal government as an Organ Procurement Organization serving western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi. The organization is based in Cordova, Tennessee. It was founded in 1976 by Dr. Louis Britt, who performed the first kidney transplant in Memphis in 1970. As an OPO, its mandate is to advocate for organ and tissue donors and recipients, aiming to increase donation within its service area and ensure that those in greatest need receive transplants. The foundation's work is grounded in coordinating the donation and transplantation process to support affected patients and their families. In 2025, MSTF entered into a partnership with Tennessee Donor Services to jointly promote the gift of life.
