MidState Medical Center is a 156-bed acute-care hospital serving communities in central Connecticut since 1998. It is the only hospital in the state offering all private patient rooms and is noted for high-quality care and strong patient satisfaction. The center provides a broad range of services, including general and minimally invasive surgery, emergency and urgent care, oncology, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, maternal-fetal medicine, sleep medicine, digestive health, pain management, neurosciences and cardiac care, with satellite offices in Meriden, Cheshire and Wallingford to expand outpatient access. Based in Meriden, Connecticut, MidState Medical Center sits within Hartford HealthCare, a large, integrated regional network. The system includes teaching and community hospitals, a comprehensive behavioral health network, a large multi-specialty physician group, home care, senior services and rehabilitation networks, organized around an institute model for cancer, heart and vascular care, neuroscience, orthopedics and urology. In May 2026, the center announced plans to expand cancer care services and enhance the patient experience.
