After serving 22 years in the textile rental industry, Mark Miller saw an area of opportunity: commercial floor mats. In general, businesses and institutions that needed mats depended on suppliers whose main interests were in uniforms, linens or cleaning chemicals. A company with a focus on commercial floor mats would enable discriminating facilities managers to obtain professional, expert advice for all their matting needs.


In 1996 Miller Mats was founded in Pittsburgh, PA to meet this need. Customers obtain their mats in two ways: mat purchase or mat rental. In the first case, the mat is purchased and maintained by the customer’s janitorial staff. In the second case, Miller Mats provides two sets of mats and exchanges the soiled ones for clean ones on a regular schedule, serving the greater Pittsburgh area.


The company has grown through outstanding service, expert staff and quality products. On the floor mat rental side, Miller Mats was one of the first to offer a complete line of solution-dyed mats, featuring beautiful fade-resistant designer colors. On the purchase side, buyers from around the U.S. depend on the company’s expertise to help design custom logo mats, choose the right types of anti-fatigue and entrance mats and determine what colors and styles will work in their lobbies or offices.
