Minds Matter NYC connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation,  and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. As the educational achievement gap persists, Minds Matter NYC is making college and career access a reality for its students through dynamic programs provided almost entirely by volunteers.

Minds Matter NYC provides critical resources including mentoring, SAT test preparation, writing instruction, and access to summer programs to students. We are proud to say that 100% of Minds Matter students have been accepted into four-year universities. Starting in 2021-22, Minds Matter NYC will become a 7-year college and career success program that stays with students throughout their college journey and as they prepare to enter the workforce as first-generation professionals.

Minds Matter NYC is currently leveraging the power of over 600 passionate volunteers to work with 250+ students.
