Minds Matter NYC is a New York City-based nonprofit focused on expanding higher-education access for students from low-income families. It provides mentoring, SAT preparation, writing instruction, and access to summer programs, largely through a volunteer network. To date, every Minds Matter student has been admitted to a four-year college.

Since the 2021-22 cycle, the program has evolved into a seven-year model that supports students through college and into the workforce as first-generation professionals. The organization relies on more than 600 volunteers to serve over 250 students, reflecting its volunteer-driven approach. In 2019, Minds Matter NYC partnered with NBCUniversal to deliver a four-day Media Fellowship to current Minds Matter students.
