The Ministry of Economy & Tourism is a government administration entity based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with an estimated staff of 501 to 1000 employees. It was established under Federal Law No. 1 of 1972 and pursues a growth vision aimed at an internationally competitive and diversified economy aligned with UAE Vision 2021. The ministry seeks to enable a business-friendly environment and formulate policies to support the UAE as a regional and global business hub, including enacting and periodically updating financial legislation to encourage and regulate the economy. It engages in international economic activities, implementing and monitoring multilateral and bilateral conventions such as WTO, and promoting foreign direct investment through campaigns highlighting the investment climate and opportunities. In 2026 the ministry pursued several partnerships to advance intellectual property protection, innovation, and related initiatives, including collaborations with Emirates Foundation, Tadweer Group, Hub71, and ENEC.
