Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) is a private nonprofit higher education institution based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded in 1886, MCAD educates students to become professional artists and designers, as well as innovative thinkers, creative leaders, and engaged global citizens. The college is recognized for its interdisciplinary approach to visual arts education and offers professional certificates, bachelor’s degrees (BFA and BS), and graduate programs. The institution serves roughly 800 students.
