Mississippi Valley Conservancy is a nationally accredited, non-profit land trust based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, founded in 1997. Since then, it has permanently conserved more than 25,000 acres of blufflands, prairies, wetlands, and streams in the Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin. The organization works across nine counties along or near the Mississippi River, including Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, Crawford, Richland, and Grant. 

To safeguard these lands, the Conservancy uses voluntary tools such as conservation agreements, land acquisitions, and a landowner registry program. Its on-the-ground work includes restoring native ecosystems by removing invasive species and conducting prescribed burns, as well as offering hands-on outdoor learning experiences for thousands of young people and fostering a conservation ethic.
