The Missouri Public Service Commission is a state regulatory agency in the utilities sector that oversees investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer, and telephone companies in Missouri. Its mandate focuses on delivering safe, reliable, and reasonably priced utility service to consumers while permitting regulated utilities to earn a reasonable return on their investment. In addition, the PSC regulates manufacturers and retail dealers that sell manufactured homes and modular units. The commission is composed of five commissioners who are appointed by the governor for six-year terms and confirmed by the Missouri Senate. It is based in Jefferson City, Missouri, and serves utility customers across the state through its regulatory role.
