Mitotyping Technologies performs forensic DNA testing for the criminal justice system. We are a subsidiary of American International Biotechnology, and the sister lab of Fairfax Identity. 

We are ASCLD/LAB accredited under the ISO 17025 International Program.  We receive cases from attorneys, law enforcement, innocence projects, private citizens, and public and private DNA, trace evidence, and toxicology laboratories.  

We specialize in human and canine mitochondrial DNA testing of hairs, skeletal remains, and samples from unidentified species (for species'​ testing).  We also provide nuclear DNA analysis using Identifiler and PowerPlex 16HS in violent crime, criminal paternity, sexual assault, and cold cases.  

We have testified in over 200 cases in courts of law, including international, federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

We use our 60+ person/years of experience in the field to consult, doing case reviews of laboratory DNA analyses performed by other labs, advising on the undertaking of case investigation where DNA analysis is required, and educating the scientific community and public about what we do in the form of lectures, presentations, and peer-reviewed research papers.
