Mocha was a film-first storytelling studio founded in 2000 and shaped over 25 years by the people who passed through it. Across its lifetime, more than 30 people worked at Mocha. Some stayed for many years, others for shorter chapters, but together they built a place defined by curiosity, care for the work, and a belief that creativity should be taken seriously without taking itself too seriously. There was hard work, pressure, responsibility, and a lot of laughter along the way. The studio worked on projects where clarity, credibility, and emotional intelligence mattered. That included culture change, transformation, employer branding, safety, research, and large-scale programmes, often in environments with scrutiny, risk, and complexity. The work was demanding, but it was also deeply rewarding. Mocha was as much a learning environment as it was a production studio. People developed their craft, tested ideas, made mistakes, and learned how to operate with judgement and care. Relationships formed there have endured, as have the values and standards the work was built on. As the world of production changed, the traditional agency model Mocha had grown within no longer made sense in the same way. The studio concluded its work in 2025. What remains is not a name or a company, but the experience, relationships, and craft that continue to shape new ways of working. Mocha was a chapter. The work, the learning, and the people carry on.
