The mission of Montana Outdoor Science School  is to promote and understanding, awareness and appreciation of the natural world through quality educational experiences.

MOSS offers robust in-school science programs, a reputable and long-standing summer camp and adult workshops and classes. In 1994, Martha Collins, Louise Forrest and Martha Kauffman started a summer camp with the simple goal of creating fun, hands-on nature experiences for kids. Armed with experience as educators, mediators, scientists, authors and moms, the trio shared a vision that our lives are enriched when we have a greater understanding of our natural surroundings. Today, the summer camp has grown to where we offer year-round courses for all ages. As Montana Outdoor Science School celebrates its 19th year, the founders' vision is even more compelling.
