The issues of Elder Law include Long Term Care planning, such as nursing home and assistive/assisted living placement and "aging in place" which is the overwhelming preference of most families.  Elder Law further deals with financial planning to accomplish your goals with the use of Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, and other resources and benefits available to those over 65. 
 
The Estate Planning process includes the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Financial Durable Powers of Attorney, and Living Wills/Advanced Medical Directives. We have a Notary onsite so that proper execution of estate plans can take place timely and in accordance with statutory requirements.  
 
Without the proper Elder and Estate planning, a Guardianship proceeding may be necessary.  We are experienced in all phases of the litigation wherein the court orders the appointment of a guardian.  Between 2011 and 2014, Attorney Ferrino served as Solicitor for Montgomery County Office of Aging and Adult Services (MCAAS) which is often called upon when protective services are needed for an elderly individual who has no network or support in place and no one to act as that person's agent under a Power of Attorney.
 
Upon the death of a loved one, our experience will guide you through the Estate Administration also known as the probate process by addressing all the estate requirements at the Register of Wills including Inheritance tax filings.
