Based in Boston since 2014, MFDS, Monte French Design Studio, is an award-winning architecture and urban design firm practicing in a broad array of building types and urban scales. With over 20 years of experience, principal Monte French leads MFDS to provide comprehensive design services from feasibility studies and permitting through construction administration to a range of clientele including institutions, developers, private entities, and individuals. 
MFDS seek solutions that minimize risk and mitigate uncertainty in all scales of the built environment, with a deep interest in how we shape our cities. We provide intelligent and pragmatic solutions in a rapidly evolving industry and environment; employing a critical, rigorous, and collaborative design approach that is underpinned and guided by nuanced experience in project management and extensive knowledge of building construction. 
We approach every project holistically, recognizing that a project is more than its design but rather the successful culmination and execution of incredible efforts from all parties involved. Realizing client vision and investment, considering the built/historical/cultural contexts and constituent and neighborhood interests, and successfully navigating through all regulatory processes by working closely with municipal agencies, are all critical aspects of a project that comprise MFDS’ core competencies.
