The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) is a regional educational service agency based in Norristown, Pennsylvania. It provides a broad set of services to meet the educational and social service needs of Montgomery County’s more than 200 schools and institutions, including 22 public school districts, over 150 nonpublic schools, four career-technical schools, three charter schools, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Services are delivered through nine offices, including Early Childhood Services, Professional Learning, PaTTAN, and Technology Services. The organization serves as a key partner within the county’s education ecosystem.
In September 2025, MCIU launched Mental Health Literacy in Pennsylvania (MHLPA), a free hub designed to connect educators, families, and students with practical mental health resources. The initiative demonstrates the unit’s engagement in projects that support educators, families, and students across Montgomery County.
