Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP) is a private, nonprofit real estate organization founded in 1989 that develops, acquires, and rehabilitates affordable housing in Montgomery County, Maryland, and the surrounding region. Based in Silver Spring, the group owns and manages more than 2,100 affordable rental homes across several communities, including Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Hyattsville, and the District of Columbia. MHP’s work extends beyond housing to include community life programs designed to support residents and their families, as well as outreach to neighborhood stakeholders, small businesses, and civic groups. The organization emphasizes a holistic approach to housing by offering affordable rents alongside services such as preschool activities, afterschool programs, summer camps, computer training, health seminars, and ESOL classes, and it participates as a chartered member of NeighborWorks America. In recent years, the organization has engaged in notable partnerships and large-scale projects, including collaborations with construction firms on new affordable developments and significant financing for major rehabilitation efforts.
