Moreton Bay College is an independent school delivering primary and secondary education for girls, based in Manly West in the Brisbane region of Queensland. It traces its origins to 1901, when Miss Alice J Alison Greene and her sister founded Moreton Bay Girls’ High School, initially offering day classes alongside a boarding facility for 30 students. The school later came under church administration, was renamed Moreton Bay College in 1957 to align with its college status, and began planning relocation after acquiring land at Wondall Road in 1981, with the boarding facility closing in 1980. The college has placed emphasis on student wellbeing through its Hearts and Minds framework, introduced in 2018, and has been recognized in national education awards for wellbeing initiatives. In 2022 it joined the SolarBuddy program in collaboration with Trend Micro, AWS, Mantel Group, St Margaret’s Girls School and others to help run projects that provide solar-powered lights for children in energy poverty. The institution is described as one of the leading independent girls’ schools in Brisbane, and its stated partnership with Moreton Bay Boys’ College (MBBC) is expected to enhance its standing within Queensland's education sector.
