Educating and empowering young women to serve and shape their world Wenona is a single-sex, non-denominational school, founded on Christian principles, for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school offers a liberal broad based curriculum, has high academic standards, and strongly encourages participation in the arts, sport, and other extra curricula activities. Wenona was founded in 1886, making it one of the longest established girls’ schools in Australia. We exist to raise a generation of women who are confident to lead, strong and courageous, willing and able to stand up against injustice, intelligent and compassionate and proactive. This will be a generation who will serve, in whatever capacity they find themselves, speaking out loudly and clearly for a better world. We stand for values and ideals of the ‘renaissance’ woman. We stand for the inherent value of every woman to be exceptionally well educated, both morally and intellectually, having developed a strong sense of belonging and self-worth, who engages in a wide range of creative and physical pursuits, is compassionate, proactive and optimistic, and who makes a difference in the lives of those around her by taking the initiative, and being receptive to facilitating change.
