Morris & Morris was formed in 1989 by James W. Morris, III, Philip B. Morris and several other veteran lawyers from Richmond’s Browder, Russell, Morris and Butcher, a general practice firm of 55 lawyers. We were able to gain from our experiences in a larger firm the skills and expertise to handle many different types of litigation, including complex and involved claims. The founders of Morris & Morris sought to carve out a niche for a sophisticated trial firm, devoted to litigation, that could compete with larger firms for complex trial work on behalf of national and international clients. They recruited the best courtroom lawyers supported by a skilled and motivated staff to deliver results.
