The Morris Museum of Art was founded in 1985 and opened to the public in 1992. It is the oldest museum in the country that is devoted to the art and artists of the American South. The museum’s permanent collection holds more than six thousand works of art that date from the late-eighteenth century to the present. The Morris also hosts twelve special exhibitions annually + a wide array of public and family programs.
