Mortgage Apple Cakes was founded by the woman who baked her way out of foreclosure, one Apple Cake at a time.

Angela Logan, an actress, found herself faced with foreclosure after her agency closed while owing her several thousands of dollars.  Also, the contractor working on her house caused her to have to undo much of the work because of code issues.   Facing foreclosure, Angela Logan decided to try to save her home by doing something she loved – baking cakes.  Her neighbors and friends came to her aid and ordered the cakes for $40 apiece. 

Needless to say, her story went viral and before long Ms. Logan appeared on CNN, The Today Show, Cake Boss, and other local and national TV news and other programs.   In addition, her story graced the pages of magazines such as Black Enterprise, Essence, Forbes, O, Guideposts, and various other magazines, both local a national.  Orders poured in from across the country and even overseas. 

In 2014, a cable movie, Apple Mortgage Cake, aired on UPtv about Angela’s struggle.  It is an inspirational story about the ability of one person to overcome obstacles, while still helping others, in order to meet her goal.  Apple Mortgage Cake can now be seen on other cable stations and Direct TV.  Check your local stations for information.
