Memphis Opportunity Scholarship Trust (M.O.S.T.) was founded in 1998 to help give all families in the Memphis area the opportunity to make the most of their educational opportunities and allow parents to choose the school that best fits their children's needs. M.O.S.T. was founded on three basic principles:

1. Parents are best qualified to make educational choices for their children.
2. All children deserve access to the education that best fits their needs, regardless of financial circumstances or ZIP code.
3. The early years of a child's education are the most important for ensuring success in school and beyond.

To fulfill its mission, M.O.S.T. offers partial need-based scholarships to help families send their children to private schools in the Memphis area. Each year, the organization sponsors approximately 400 students. Since its founding, M.O.S.T. has awarded more than $26 million in scholarships to over 3,600 students in prekindergarten through grade 12.
