Memphis Opportunity Scholarship Trust was founded in 1998 by Bob Solmson to help give all families in the Memphis area the opportunity to send their child to the school that best fits their needs regardless of their financial circumstances. MOST was founded on three basic principles:

1. Parents are best qualified to make educational choices for their children.
2. All children deserve access to the education that best fits their needs, regardless of financial circumstances or ZIP code.
3. The early years of a child's education are the most important for ensuring success in school and beyond.

To fulfill its mission, MOST offers need-based scholarships to help families send their children to private schools in the Memphis area. Since its founding, MOST has awarded more than $27 million in scholarships to over 3,600 students in prekindergarten through grade 12.
