Motz Enterprises, Inc. has been in business for over 30 years. The business started out in the landscaping industry with a sod farm. In 2000, owner, Jim Motz invented Flexamat. A lake at Jim's personal residence developed a severe erosion problem. Jim searched for a permanent solution but found none that were up to his standards. The lack of a solution led Jim to develop Flexamat. That first installation at his home is still effectively stopping shoreline erosion. Flexamat has come a long way since the early beginings around the Motz's private lake. Many advances have been made improving the manufacturing, installation, and performance.
