The Museum of Northern Arizona is a private, nonprofit institution in Flagstaff, founded in 1928 through a community effort led by zoologist Dr. Harold S. Colton and artist Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton. It began as a repository for Native American artifacts and natural history specimens from the Colorado Plateau and has since grown into a regional center of learning with collections, exhibits, educational programs, publications, and research projects. It is the only accredited museum within 150 miles of Flagstaff, and it is located at 3101 N. Fort Valley Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Its activities serve thousands of people each year, providing access to its collections and programming to education and research audiences focused on the Colorado Plateau. In 2025 the museum hosted its Easton Collection Center Open House with free admission, reflecting its role within the museums, historical sites, and zoos sector.
