Mission

The Museum of the American Railroad is a not-for-profit Texas corporation dedicated to celebrating the heritage and exploring the future of railroads through historic preservation, research, and educational programming. Overview

Founded in 1963, the Museum of the American Railroad strives to preserve locomotives from the steam and diesel-electric era, as well as preserve and restore passenger coaches. The Museum holds one of the largest collections of Pullman Cars in the United States.

The museum has moved its entire collection from Fair Park in Dallas to Frisco, TX. The site is still under construction, with indoor exhibits on the second floor of the Frisco Heritage Museum.
