My Place Hotels of America is a hospitality company headquartered in Aberdeen, South Dakota, with an estimated 201 to 500 employees. The concept was developed by Ron Rivett, a co-founder of Super 8 Motels, to provide clean, comfortable rooms at affordable prices for both short- and long-term stays. The first My Place hotel opened in Dickinson, North Dakota in February 2012, launching a two-year proof-of-concept that led to a franchising model beginning in 2014. Since then the company has expanded to multiple markets, including openings in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Westminster, Colorado in 2026, and it continues to pursue franchise growth across the Midwest. Recent developments include the launch of Stay Rewarded member rates in June 2026 and a multi-property franchise agreement with Lloyd Companies to develop 10 hotels over five years, along with planned new locations such as Coffeyville, Kansas in 2027.
