My Spectrum School Gifted & Talented Education: INNOVATION IN EDUCATION.  My Spectrum School approached education with a constructive vision of pedagogy that combines contemporary sciences of mind with learning theories.  Our philosophy fosters the belief that each child exhibits a unique profile of different abilities, or spectrum of intelligences based on Gardner's (1983, 1999) Theory of Multiple Intelligences and Harvard University Project Spectrum (1994) research.  My Spectrum School identifies a child's area of intellect and composes an individualized profile to nurture his/her strengths or gifts.  These intelligences are not fixed, but enhanced by academic stimulation and shaped within a social cultural content that defines giftedness.  This framework provokes the understanding of each child's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development and offers an innovative approach to curriculum and assessment aligned with New York State Common Core Learning Standards.
