NAIOP Northern Virginia is a regional chapter of the national NAIOP organization focused on leasing of non-residential real estate in Northern Virginia. Chartered in 1980 by local developers, the chapter has grown to a community of more than 900 members, making it one of the largest NAIOP chapters in North America. The chapter is governed by a board and an executive committee elected each year, and it maintains a small, dedicated staff based in Alexandria, Virginia. Its mission centers on strengthening professional standards within the commercial real estate sector in the region and improving the industry's image and public perception. It also supports an active government affairs program and seeks to positively influence environmental, social, and economic quality of life in Northern Virginia, while facilitating the exchange of ideas for professional growth.
