About Nardagani: The United States is facing a profound literacy crisis: well over 30 million adults are functionally illiterate; they cannot read above the third grade level. Illiteracy limits employment, affects mental health, and reduces opportunities for personal and economic mobility. Nardagani was created to provide a simple, effective solution for struggling readers of ALL ages and backgrounds. How It Began: When founder Narda Pitkethly watched her bright daughter struggle to learn to read, she was reminded of her own experience learning Japanese. During her time living in Japan, she learned to read hiragana in just one week. Hiragana is a structured, symbol-based system that helps learners decode thousands of Japanese characters. Inspired by this method, Narda adapted the concept for English, developing a 12-symbol coding system that helps learners quickly connect sounds to letters and words. Over more than a decade, she refined the system with reading specialists, teachers, and challenged readers. A Method That Works: Today, Nardagani is used in: • School intervention programs • Special education settings • Detention Facilities • Tutoring environments • Adult literacy programs Learners who once believed reading wasn’t possible—children, adults, dyslexic readers, autistic learners, and individuals who slipped through traditional systems—are now reading with confidence. Accessible Technology: The Nardagani app is available on iOS and Android phones and tablets, making it accessible to families, tutors, and learners everywhere. With guided lessons and fun, interactive games. Users can build foundational skills at their own pace. Our Purpose: Nardagani helps build a literate world, free of discrimination. We empower learners of all ages and languages with an intuitive symbol-based reading system that dismantles barriers and creates lifelong opportunity.
