The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS) is a nonprofit, member-led organization in the hospitals and health care sector based in the United States. It brings together more than 500 ACOs and value-based care entities operating within Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, representing physicians, health systems, and other providers nationwide to improve patient quality and reduce health care costs. Through its scope, it represents more than 9.5 million lives under Medicare's population health–focused payment and delivery models. The organization was co-founded by Clif Gaus, who served as CEO until his retirement announced in 2024. In May 2026, NAACOS launched the Specialty Engagement in Accountable Care Toolkit, a practical resource developed with input from clinicians, payers, specialists, and operational and analytical experts to support specialty engagement in accountable care.
