NCMA provides four certifications—CCMA, CPCM, CFCM, and CCCM—to validate expertise and enhance professional credibility in contract management. It is the parent organization of the Contract Management Institute (CMI), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that offers collaboration opportunities and resources for contract management professionals across government, industry, and academia. In May 2025 NCMA launched the Acquisition Efficiency Working Group to produce practical recommendations that support government acquisition reform efforts.
