The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges is a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening the nation’s juvenile and family courts. Founded in 1937 by a group of judges, it works to improve court practices for children and families and to raise awareness of child welfare and domestic violence issues. Headquartered in Reno, Nevada, it serves judges and court staff nationwide through training, technical assistance, and research. Each year it engages roughly 30,000 judges, court administrators, social and mental health workers, police, and probation officers across the juvenile and family courts. It partners with the University of Nevada, Reno and the National Judicial College to offer advanced degree programs for judges and other court professionals. In 2026, the organization launched a modernized website to better support its work.
