The National Health Law Program is a mid-sized legal services organization focused on health equity for low-income and underserved communities. It conducts advocacy, education, and litigation at the federal and state levels to expand access to affordable, quality health care and to defend the health-care safety net and Medicaid programs. Based in Washington, D.C., and founded in 1969, the group works at the intersection of health law and civil rights to advance systemic change.

The organization seeks to influence policy and hold Medicaid agencies accountable through advocacy and strategic litigation. In June 2026, Health Law Partnership launched a national hub to enable advocates to share information, strategies, and resources in real time to safeguard access to care across states.
