The National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (HMHB) is a wellness and fitness services organization focused on maternal and child health. Established in 1981 in response to the Surgeon General’s conference on infant mortality, HMHB coalitions with more than 100 local, state, and national partners to improve education for prenatal and infant care and to broaden the reach of information among health professionals, parents, and policymakers. Through its network of state and local groups, the organization fosters collaboration among community organizations, professional associations, nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies to advance the health and safety of mothers, babies, and families, guided by core values centered on equal access to care, reducing disparities, and culturally competent education. The nonprofit operates from the United States and serves a broad audience of healthcare providers, families, and decision-makers, aiming to enhance prenatal and infant health outcomes via educational materials and collaborative partnerships.
