The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) is a large public research organization in Japan focused on research services and aimed at addressing societal challenges and strengthening industrial competitiveness. It is located in Higashi, Ibaraki, and employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people.
