National Sports Academy is an independent, coeducational boarding school located in Lake Placid, New York, serving elite winter sports athletes in grades 8 through 12. It provides an integrated program of academics and athletics aimed at students who compete at national and international levels, pursue college opportunities, and plan for life beyond sport. The school’s mission drives core decisions across operations, including how faculty and coaches are recruited, how student-athletes are admitted, and how budgeting and strategic planning are conducted.

Its academic program supports students in balancing coursework with intensive training through flexible schedules, guided study away from campus, and a committed faculty. The overall approach emphasizes planning and individualized support to sustain both athletic and scholastic progress. Lake Placid's winter-sports heritage, including hosting the 1932 and 1980 Winter Games, provides context for the school's focus.
