“Near North Development Corporation exists to lead in the creation of an economically and socially vital, dynamic, and diverse community of choice on the near north side of Indianapolis.” In pursuit of that mission, Near North Development Corporation (NNDC) assumes many roles within the community. By building and fostering strong relationships with residents and area stakeholders, NNDC pursues a shared aspirational vision for the community and implements it by accessing, leveraging, and promoting resources as well as developing lasting partnerships. NNDC works in a variety of capacities to undertake projects, programs, and initiates that accelerate community progress. NNDC is a not-for-profit community organization formed in 1977 as a partnership between Methodist Hospital, Meridian Highland Neighborhood Association, and the Central North Civic Association for the purpose of eliminating blight, stimulating economic development, and enhancing quality of life along the North Meridian Corridor. NNDC serves residents and businesses within their geographic boundaries from New York Street to 38th Street between I-65 and Pennsylvania Street.
