Today it operates 10 health centers providing pediatric and adult primary care, prenatal care, family planning, HIV testing, reproductive health, adolescent health, geriatrics, dental, behavioral health and basic pharmacy and lab services. Additionally, as part of a community clinic network, access to specialists is made possible for patients. Our mission is to Provide quality health care and promote wellness to everyone in our communities, focusing on those most in need. The patient population includes the working poor, homeless, the uninsured and low-income families. In 2013, Neighborhood Healthcare (NHcare) served 67,222 individuals through 256,113 visits. Eighty-three percent of these patients live at or below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL); for a family of four that translates to a total yearly income less than $23,851. It is the policy of NHcare to provide affordable medical care regardless of ability to pay. A sliding-fee scale discount based on the patient’s income and family size is applied accordingly and no one is turned away for needed care. Geographically, Neighborhood Healthcare (NHcare) provides services in the North Inland and East County regions of San Diego County and in Southwest Riverside County.
