Netnod is a neutral, independent Internet infrastructure organization based in Solna, in the Stockholm region of Sweden. It is a mid-sized organization wholly owned by the TU-stiftelsen foundation, a non-profit entity. With more than two decades at the core of the Internet, Netnod provides essential infrastructure support including DNS services, root-server operations, and Internet exchange points that help keep networks connected. Netnod operates the largest Internet Exchange Points in the Nordics and provides DNS services to TLDs, partners, and enterprises worldwide. It runs i.root-servers.net, one of the Internet's 13 root name servers, and is responsible for distributing Swedish national time via NTP. In March 2026, Netnod was recognized as a Registry Service Provider by ICANN.
