NVMA is a Nevada-based trade association serving the state's mineral sector, with the aim of fostering a favorable environment for exploration, development, and production of minerals within the state. It achieves this by convening industry stakeholders to speak with a unified voice and by promoting best practices across regulatory affairs, policy, education, safety, environmental stewardship, human resources, and public outreach.

In 2025 the association announced a partnership with EarthSciWeek to provide Earth science lessons aligned with state standards, illustrating its education and outreach activities. The organization is based in Reno, Nevada, and sits within the mining sector as a small-to-mid-sized trade association focused on coordinating industry efforts.
