New Dance Alliance is a New York City–based arts service organization dedicated to advancing innovative dance, music, video, and interdisciplinary performance. Incorporated in 1989, NDA was formed to support artistic communities with limited institutional resources and to broaden opportunities for sharing experimental works with the public. Its programming aims to connect artists and audiences through annual events, retreats, educational panels, and performances. Its four core programs—Performance Mix Festival, NDA Exchange, NDA Space Grant, and Karen Bernard/Solo—collectively support more than 100 experimental artists and engage about 2,500 audience members each year. In 2022, NDA launched the Black Artists Space to Create residency, signaling an expansion of its artist-support initiatives.
