New Jersey Health Initiatives (NJHI) supports improving health equity in New Jersey by funding and backing locally led community groups and networks. Its approach centers on racial equity and systems-level change, enabling resident voices to shape health-related decisions and actions. The program is administered through a collaboration among the Community Foundation of New Jersey, the Community Foundation of South Jersey, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Based in New Jersey, NJHI operates with a small team. The organization engages a regional audience of community groups and local networks working on health and equity issues, providing resources and pathways to strengthen local capacity. A recent development includes an April 2024 announcement of a Request for Information to help guide its next phase of work.
